Ken Bova

JEWELER • METALSMITH • EDUCATOR

Ken Bova is associate professor emeritus at East Carolina University where he served as coordinator for the graduate program in Metal Design. While at ECU he received the university’s prestigious Distinguished Graduate Mentor Award and served as the School of Art and Design Parliamentarian. Ken holds an MFA from Montana State University (Bozeman) and a BFA from Sam Houston State University (Huntsville, TX) with additional studies at the University of New Mexico and the University of Houston. He is Past President of the Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) with work in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian, Racine, Mint, Tacoma, Philadelphia, and Georgia Art Museums, the Enamel Arts Foundation, and numerous private collections. His work has been published in over 35 books and catalogs and over 40 periodicals including Metalsmith, American Craft, Ornament, and Art Jewelry magazines. His jewelry has been shown nationally and internationally in over 250 exhibitions and over 40 solo shows. He currently resides in southwest Montana with his wife artist/metalsmith Alison Pack Bova, a Welsh terrier mix named Sandy, and six cats.
